You will need these tools & supplies to follow the Canon 5D mk2 infrared conversion tutorial:

- Infrared filter to replace the hot mirror
- Small philips type screwdriver
- Tweezers
- Canned air
- Lens cleaning solution & tissue
- Grounding strap /w current limit resistor

If you prefer not to risk damage to your camera, have us convert it to infrared for you here. It would be best to perform the conversion in a well lit area that is as clean and dust free as possible. Wearing a grounding strap will minimize the chance of zapping your camera with static and most likely rendering it dead.

Remove the rubber grip material.

Remove marked screws.

Remove marked screw.

Remove the battery & holder.

Peel back the grip material and remove marked screws.

Remove the connector cap and marked screws.

Gently lift up the rear cover and disconnect marked cables.

Disconnect marked cables.

Disconnect marked cables.

Remove the I/O cover.

Remove marked screws and gently flip over the PCB.

Remove marked screws and gently flip over the sensor unit.

Disconnect the marked cable.

Remove marked screws.

Remove filter retainer.

Remove dust reduction filter.

Remove filter frame.

Gently remove the infrared blocking filter and separate from the filter gasket.

Install the filter gasket into the filter frame.

Place the filter frame back onto the sensor unit.

Place our infrared replacement filter onto the filter frame and follow the tutorial in reverse order starting with step 15 to reassemble your camera.
